On my journey to find more information on local cemeteries for my family history research on the web, I found it a bit complicated; this lead to frustration on my part and the decision to create my own website.

I started to wonder how many other patrons were out there wishing for a site that had more. I wanted to start a website that would contain information that I thought would be beneficiary.

With this in mind, Graves Keeper was created. Graves Keeper is a new site that allows patrons researching their family history to browse and search cemeteries. This site contains photographs of headstones, obituaries and histories of churches associated with cemeteries.

Cemeteries are just as essential to family research as birth and death records. Long before record keeping became as adequate as it is today, the inscription on the headstone was proof of one’s existence. It contains information you can find on the birth and death certificate. It lists the deceased’s name, birth and death date.

This is a fairly new site. As information is collected, it will be uploaded for you to view. If you have any suggestions to help make this site more efficient, please send me an email.

We welcome contributors.
